Alex Gordon

Alex originally from southeast Texas, is a current graduate of Washington University in St. Louis where he studied architecture and modern dance. He performed in Washington University’s annual dance concert for four years. During that time he worked with guest artist and faculty, performing in Cecil Slaughter’s nationally recognized GRID, Anthony Tudor’s Dark Elegies and with Rulan Tangen. While in school he danced in the Slaughter Project Dance Company under the artistic direction of Cecil Slaughter. Alex also performed in Atrek Dance Collective summer showcase, USML university’s fall concert, and in Thom Brady’s Prodigal, as the prodigal. He has choreographed for Black Anthology, Washington University’s annual African American cultural show and for Washington University’s YCS (Young Choreographer’s Showcase). He received a scholarship and attended The American Dance Festival in 2010. Alex is excited for his first season as a company member with MCB. “I look forward to the challenges and I know I will become stronger from them.”
